Meet our kitchen staff

Rita Mkhize

Our head chef, Rita is our Gogo and has been with outdoor education since its inception. Her passion is in making delicious meals that make camp feel like home.  She is our mother away from home and has so much love for us all, which is not only seen in her cooking but her hospitality too.

Lethiwe Ngobese

Our sous chef, Mama-Leh as we call her because of her caring nature, is the quiet one but her work is so loud, and we will never understand why she doesn’t like taking credit for her awesomeness.

Meet our Housekeepers

Gcwalisile Buthelezi

Gcwali as we call her, is one of our housekeepers who is well organized and keeps to herself. She specializes in setting up the rooms for special occasions.

Gcinile Mweli

Gcini is the youngest of the housekeepers, she brings a vibrant energy to the team. We love her for her carefree spirit and willingness to always help.

Khethiwe Mbatha

Khethi is the hard worker, one of those people who never wants to rest and always finding work to do. Oh! And never wants to take credit, but we give it to her anyway.

Phakamile Ntombela

MaNtombela as we call her, is the ever-smiling housekeeper. She loves keeping healthy and enjoys working in camp where school groups have fun, and would sometimes join in.

Meet the Facilitators

Nozibusiso (Nozzie) Kubheka

Nozzie will make you fall in love with her sense of humor. She is our dedicated camp leader who mostly enjoys our team building activities. She works on the itineraries for your group and helps in making sure you have a memorable stay.

Siyabonga (Boneh) Ngwane

Boneh is our lead zipline instructor and facilitator who loves the outdoors. He specializes in our Eco trails and Bushcraft activities. In another life we think he was able to speak with animals. He is passionate about birds and loves snakes.

Senamile (Sena) Ngema

Sena is all about team spirit and that’s why the kids love her! There is always noise when she is around as she brings a welcoming and cheerful spirit. Her love for outdoor education was what lead her to pursue studies in nature conservation, and she enjoys sharing her knowledge with others.

Thokozani (Tkay) Mbatha

The soccer lover! Tkay as the kids call him is the calm, fun one in the team. The kids love being around him and his soccer ball. He is one of our zipline instructors and enjoys hiking, and leading team building activities.

Sakhudumo (Sakhi) Mtshali

Sakhi is one of our zipline instructors, who enjoys river-based activities. He has good knowledge of trees, and their traditional and medicinal use. His favorite program is the Modern-day Zulu village, and we love to enjoy the laughs that he shares with those around him.

Siphesihle (Sphe) Sihlayi

Sphe, who is definitely not a Spare, as kids would say, is our Assistant Camp Manager. She steps in as a camp leader should need be and is knowledgeable in most of the programs, her favorites being Mapwork and Eco trail. She is known and loved for compassionate and kind nature.
